SAMSUNG LAUNCHES FOODSERVICE EQUIPMENT DIVISION
Samsung Electronics has launched a new division, Samsung Professional Appliances (SPA), to distribute its range of commercial foodservice equipment in the UK and Europe.  The first range to come under SPA's umbrella will be Samsung's commercial microwave ovens.  The company says the move means it will be able to offer a better service to customers and underlines Samsung's commitment to the foodservice sector. Uropa will be wholesale distributor for the range in the UK and Ireland. "The combination of quality, value and advanced technology has given Samsung a significant share of the commercial microwave oven market," says David Watts, head of Samsung Professional Appliances.  "However, the brand plans to grow further.  We intend to introduce new commercial microwave models and move into new product sectors in the next 12 months.  Consequently it made good business sense to bring distribution in-house.  "The move also allows us to get closer to our customers, as we will be able to deliver a more dedicated, focussed approach to the foodservice sector."
